Underground Inferno

Last Night, I was watching National Geographic Channel were they featured USA, RUSSIA, CHINA, SOUTH AFRICA, AUSTRALIA AND INDIA who are experiencing massive fire in their land. Across the world, thousands of coal fires are raging. Coal seams can catch fire spontaneously, burn out of control for decades, and lead to global warming by spewing greenhouse gases like CO2 into the atmosphere. They poison our air and may be one of the major causes of global warming. People face similar threats from underground fires. Controlling these fires is crucial, and once started, they are almost impossible to extinguish. I was stunned by the people living in India who walk in that fire barefooted.
